By his side for over 46 years was his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Ellen, whose memory continues to inspire him.
- Chief Investigator at Barrow County Sheriff’s Office (1975-1979)
- Police Chief of Winder (1980-1993) growing the department from 14 to 38 personnel.
- Appointed by the Governor to the State Board of Public Safety.
- Named the Outstanding Georgia Police Chief in 1987.
